Frequently Asked Questions

Below you will find answers to the questions we hear most often. If your question is not listed here, check the Troubleshooting guide or reach out to our support team.

What is FormWise?

FormWise is an AI agent builder platform. It lets you create AI-powered Flows - like chatbots, content generators, and automated workflows - without writing any code. Once you build a Flow, you can publish it, share it with a link, or embed it on your website.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. FormWise is designed for non-technical users. The visual workflow builder handles all the logic behind the scenes. You just drag, drop, and configure - no programming required.

What is the difference between a Flow and a Suite?

A Flow is a single AI application - for example, a blog post generator or a customer support chatbot.

A Suite is a collection of Flows bundled together. Suites are how you organize and share your Flows with end users. You can think of a Flow as a single app and a Suite as the app store that holds it.

What is an Agent?

An Agent is a reusable AI persona - a personality, knowledge, and set of skills you configure once in the Agent builder and then use across your Flows. An Agent is different from an Agent node, which is the individual workflow node inside a Flow that calls an AI model to generate a response.

What AI models can I use?

FormWise supports models from a range of providers, including:

  • OpenAI
  • Anthropic
  • Google
  • Many more through OpenRouter

You can choose a different model for each Agent node in your workflow, so you can mix and match depending on the task.

Do I need my own API keys?

Yes. You need an API key from at least one LLM provider (such as OpenAI or Anthropic) to power your Flows. You can add your keys in Settings > Integrations. FormWise encrypts and stores them securely.

Can I embed Flows on my website?

Yes. Once a Flow is published and added to an active Suite, you can grab an embed code (an iframe snippet) from the Suite's sharing settings. Paste it into your website's HTML and your Flow will appear right on the page.

See Sharing and Embedding for a full walkthrough.

What are Notebooks?

Notebooks are your organization's knowledge base inside FormWise. You can upload documents, connect data sources, and add other reference material so your Flows can access your business-specific information when generating responses.

Learn more in the Notebooks section.

How does versioning work?

Every time you publish a Flow, FormWise saves a new version. You can review past versions, make any version the live (production) version, and roll back to an earlier one if something goes wrong. This means you can experiment freely without worrying about breaking what is already working.

Can I collaborate with my team?

Yes. You can invite team members to your organization under Settings > Members. Each person can be assigned a role:

  • Owner - Full access to everything, including billing and organization settings.
  • Admin - Can manage Flows, Suites, integrations, and members.
  • Member - Can create and edit Flows and Suites.
  • Viewer - Read-only access to view Flows and their settings.

What is MCP?

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It lets your Agent nodes connect to external tools and services - like databases, CRMs, calendar apps, and more. With MCP, your workflows can pull in live data and take actions beyond just generating text.

Is my data secure?

Yes. FormWise takes security seriously:

  • API keys are encrypted at rest.
  • Knowledge in your Notebooks is scoped to your organization - other organizations cannot access it.
  • Memories are private and tied to individual end users or sessions.

How do credits work?

Each Flow inside a Suite can have a credit cost per run. When an end user runs one of your Flows, they consume credits based on the cost you set. This gives you control over usage and lets you manage access for your audience.
